HERE’S WHY EVERY OLYMPIC MEDALIST IS CELEBRATING WITH A STUFFED ANIMAL
If you've been watching the Olympics you've probably notice the stuffed animals being handed to medal winners - What's up with that?
Flowers are typically handed to medal winners but PyeongChang organizers opted to hand out a stuffed animal of the Games mascot Soohorang wearing a gold, silver or bronze hat. The official Olympics website says winners also receive a wooden gift adorned with mountain scenes of PyeongChang and characters from the Korean Hangul alphabet spelling out “PyeongChang 2018.”
Event winners are recognized with the stuffed animal and other gifts immediately after their event and all winners receive their medal later in the night at the PyeongChang Medal Plaza.
Someone's getting rich off of those stuffed animals too. They're currently selling on Amazon for 55 bucks.
